Terms of Service

The short version

  • The free plan has no time limit. Pro renews monthly or yearly until you cancel, and a founding price stays the same while your subscription stays active.
  • Team fees paid by card go to the coach’s own Stripe account. Refunds and disputes are between the team and the person who paid; TheCrib takes no cut.
  • You own what you put in TheCrib. Coaches are responsible for the stats, scores and public pages they publish.
  • You must be at least 14 to create your own account. For a child under 14, a parent signs them up and consents for them.
  • Be respectful, keep kids safe, and don’t try to get into another team’s data.
  • Quebec law applies, and nothing here takes away your rights under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act.

1. Operator Information

The Crib is operated by Omed Hossaini, carrying on business as "TheCrib – plateforme sportive" (Sole proprietorship), NEQ 2281774812.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Service Description

TheCrib is a sports team management platform used by coaches, players, parents, and team staff. Features include, among others: roster management, event scheduling, attendance tracking, player evaluations, statistics, drill library, practice planner, tactical whiteboard, team payment collection, game checklists, advanced analytics, push notifications, parent accounts, CSV/PDF exports, multi-coach support, player availability and class schedules, live stats and box scores, fill from photo, lineups, tasks, public team and league pages, AI-powered practice planning, and AI drill search. Feature access varies by plan.

4. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be at least 14 years old to create your own account.
  • For a player under 14, a parent or guardian creates the account and consents for the child, as Quebec's Law 25 requires.
  • Users under 18 require permission from a parent or legal guardian.
  • You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and for activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
  • You must promptly notify us about suspected unauthorized access.

5. Paid Plans, Billing, and Renewals

Certain features are only available on the Pro paid plan. Access limits are based on your active subscription and apply at the account level.

Web: subscriptions are processed by Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly for the monthly plan, yearly for the annual plan) unless canceled in account settings before the next renewal.

Founding price: if you subscribed at a founding price, that price will not go up for as long as your subscription stays active without a break. For any other price change, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

iOS: in-app purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store. iOS subscriptions are managed through Apple ID Settings. We do not have access to Apple payment information. iOS refund requests must be made directly to Apple.

Unless required by applicable law or payment platform policy, fees are non-refundable. You remain responsible for any taxes associated with your purchase. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act or any other consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

5b. Team Fees Paid to Coaches

A coach can connect their own Stripe account so players or parents can pay team fees by card. Those fees are an arrangement between the team and its players: the coach's Stripe account is the seller and receives the money. TheCrib is not a party to it, does not hold the money and takes no commission.

Refunds, disputes and chargebacks are between the person who paid and the coach or team. The coach is responsible for the amounts they request and for their accuracy. Stripe's Connected Account Agreement applies to the coach.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Violate the rights of other users, teams, or third parties.
  • Post abusive, harassing, threatening, obscene, or unlawful content.
  • Attempt to probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, decompile, or compromise the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Perform injection attacks (SQL, script, command, etc.) or any other security attack.
  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically index the Service without written permission.
  • Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to access the Service or extract data.
  • Manipulate rankings, reviews, or SEO signals related to the Service.
  • Share inappropriate content with minors or otherwise endanger children.
  • Collect personal data from other users without a legal basis or consent.
  • Bypass plan gating, limits, or security controls.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Attempt to access another user's data, accounts, or teams.
  • Transmit malware, viruses, or any harmful code.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service ("User Content"). You grant us a non-exclusive license to host, process, and display User Content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

You are responsible for the legality and accuracy of User Content, including having any required rights and permissions.

7b. Availability & Schedule Data

The Service lets a player voluntarily block off time (e.g. classes or other commitments) so their coaches can spot conflicts before team activities. Providing this is optional; you decide what to block, and naming a class or room is optional.

By saving your time blocks, you consent to them being shared with your team's coaches. They are visible only to those coaches and to you, and you can edit or delete them at any time. You are responsible for the accuracy of the blocks you add, and you must have the right to import any schedule you upload.

Conflict indicators are provided for convenience only. TheCrib does not guarantee their accuracy and is not responsible for decisions made in reliance on them (e.g. missing a class or activity). If you are under 18, you should provide this information only with a parent's or guardian's permission.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Our processing of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we process personal information in accordance with that policy and applicable law.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service software, branding, design elements, and related materials are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms do not transfer ownership rights to you.

10. Availability and Changes

We may change features, plans, limits, integrations, or pricing at any time, subject to section 5 for current subscriptions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create legal risk, or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and can delete your account yourself in Settings.

11b. AI Features

The AI practice plan generator and the AI drill search are powered by OpenAI. AI-generated outputs are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional coaching advice. You are responsible for reviewing and validating any generated content before use.

Do not submit personally identifiable information, medical data, or other sensitive information in AI prompts. We are not responsible for AI-generated content or the availability of OpenAI services.

11d. Stats, Scores and Public Pages

Stats, scores, box scores and standings are entered by coaches (live, by hand or from a photo). TheCrib does not check them and is not the official scorekeeper for any league or federation. Check the official sheet before relying on them.

If you publish a team or league page, you are responsible for what you publish and for having the right to publish it. You can take it down at any time.

11c. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TheCrib, its operator, employees, agents, and service providers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your User Content; (d) your violation of third-party rights; or (e) your conduct in connection with the Service.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR REVENUE. THIS LIMITATION DOES NOT APPLY TO THE EXTENT THE QUEBEC CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT OR ANY OTHER LAW DOES NOT ALLOW IT.

14. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec, Canada, and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Unless otherwise required by law, disputes will be brought before competent courts in Quebec, Canada.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version and change the Last Updated date.
