How to collect team fees without chasing parents

Every coach knows the feeling. The season has started, you have equipment and league fees to cover, and half the team still has not paid. So you start sending texts. Then follow-up texts. Then the slightly passive-aggressive group message that nobody wants to send.

It does not have to be like that. Here is how to collect team fees without the awkwardness.

Set the amount and deadline up front

Decide the fee before the season starts and put a clear due date on it. People pay on time far more often when there is an actual deadline instead of a vague "whenever you can." Break a big number into smaller pieces if you need to (registration now, tournament fees later).

Let people pay in one tap

The single biggest reason fees come in late is friction. If paying means an e-transfer, remembering your email, and typing in an amount, people put it off.
